RAND is a NYSERDA Multifamily Building Solutions Network (MFBSN) Provider, a group of qualified professionals experienced in helping building owners and facility managers identify and integrate energy saving solutions into comprehensive building improvement plans.

By partnering with RAND, clients gain access to a range of incentive programs administered by NYSERDA, New York electric/gas utilities, and affordable housing agencies through the MFBSN program.

  • Energy Audits: Conducting in-depth energy audits to pinpoint areas of energy wastage and identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Compliance Assistance: Assist clients in meeting energy efficiency standards and regulations, including Carbon Emissions Reduction Compliance (LL97), Benchmarking (LL84 & 133), Energy Audits, Commissioning, Retro-commissioning (LL87), Lighting Upgrades, Submetering (LL88), Electrification Law (LL154), and Solar and Green Roofs (LL92 & 94). 

NYSERDA FlexTech Program Independent Service Provider

RAND also provides cost-shared energy studies for New York State's eligible commercial, industrial, and multifamily facilities as an independent service provider of NYSERDA’s Flexible Technical Assistance (FlexTech) Program. Eligible study areas can include:

  • Energy efficiency technical analyses
  • Investigation of an advanced technology or system
  • Creation of a long-term energy plan
  • Investigation of energy savings
  • Investigation of Clean Heating and Cooling Systems including Air Source Heat Pumps, Ground Source Heat Pumps, Variable Refrigerant Flow, and Solar Heating and Cooling
  • Investigation of distributed energy resources

Our objective studies help clients reduce energy costs and integrate clean energy solutions into their capital planning.

Local Law 97 of 2019 Compliance

With Local Law 97's carbon emissions reduction deadline looming, our services in New York City focus on guiding buildings through compliance pathways. Our holistic approach encompasses energy audits, retro-commissioning, and a suite of energy-efficient upgrades, designed to assist clients in navigating the requirements of LL97 effectively and mitigate the risk of potential substantial penalties.
