Perhaps nothing is more important to a building than its structural integrity. Demolition and excavation at a construction site, for example, can compromise the structural integrity of an adjacent building's walls and foundation if proper safeguards and procedures are not followed. Roof membranes and their underlying decks can be damaged when subjected to the added loads from recreational use if the roof was not designed for such purposes. Below-grade sidewalk vaults are vulnerable to water damage and long-term deterioration, which can lead to instability in structural members and the sidewalk above it.
Rand evaluates structural conditions, looking for key signs of damage or deterioration. Our detailed structural reports list immediate areas of concern and longer-term conditions that should be addressed, and we provide recommendations for reinforcing and replacing structural supports. Rand also prepares plans and specifications for the structural rehabilitation of foundations, roofs, walls, floors, and other structural elements.
