Structural Engineer

Rand seeks structural engineers with solid field experience in building structures, facades, roofing, and structural rehabilitation. The position entails preparing construction documents and frequent interaction with clients, so good written and verbal skills are a must. New York State PE license a strong plus, but not required.

Rand seeks mechanical engineers with a strong knowledge of residential and commercial HVAC and plumbing systems. Candidates must be experienced in preparing construction drawings and design specifications and proficient in CAD. Knowledge of electrical and fire protection systems is a plus. New York State PE license preferred, but not essential.

Rand seeks architects with a solid background in designing and renovating interior spaces, plan preparation, NYC building code, and zoning issues to help company expand architectural interior design services. New York State RA license preferred but not required. Experience with exterior envelope repair and restoration work a plus. Excellent communication skills essential.

Strong project planning and verbal and written communication skills are essential. Knowledge of NYC Local Law 11/98 and experience in AutoCAD are pluses. New York State RA or PE license preferred but not required.

Engineer/Architect: Building Surveys

Rand seeks engineers and architects to perform evaluations of building exterior envelopes, review proposed alteration work, and prepare physical condition surveys. Candidates should have experience conducting exterior surveys of buildings and/or visiting sites to observe restoration work. Attention to detail, excellent writing skills, and the ability to interact with clients required. New York State PE or RA license is a plus but not required.

Senior Engineer, Quality Control

Review, edit and finalize reports, including Facade Inspection & Safety Program (FISP) Reports, Site Visit Reports, Due Diligence Reports, Surveys, and Evaluations. Review and approve report recommendations. Work with Department of Buildings (DOB) fa├žade unit; ensure that all reports conform to DOB requirements. Offer guidance to engineers and other team members. Assist Business Development and Marketing with technical and project information. Coordinate work of teams and resolve procedural issues. Maintain and develop RAND standards. Related duties.

Requirements: BS in Civil Engineering and six (6) years of progressively more responsible experience preparing construction surveys, including surveys for building repair, upgrade, and restoration. Expertise with building systems, including exterior, waterproofing, roofing, HVAC, and structural. Knowledge of NYC FISP & NYC Building Code. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
